Chronic Pulmonary Obstructive Disease (COPD) affects 30 million Americans suffering from progressive lung diseases such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and non-reversible asthma. Many patients don’t acknowledge that they have it, thinking their breathlessness and coughing are just a normal part of aging. A recent article in Home Healthcare News notes that patients who refuse home health care services after being discharged from a hospital may be at higher risk of being readmitted.
