Care Resource’s Parkinson’s Disease (PD) in-home therapy program helps patients with PD reduce the incidents of falls in the home and prevents Emergency Room visits and unnecessary hospital admissions. Our intensive therapy focuses on major motor skills training to help PD patients improve their walking, movement of their arms and legs, and balance

We use the proven LSVT BIG and LOUD® therapy protocols for in-home Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy developed in the late 1980's. LSVT BIG involves the patient using "big" movements with repetition and varying complexity that results in faster walking with bigger steps, improvements in activities of daily living, and slowed motor deterioration. LSVT LOUD emphasizes amplitude of voice with resultant increased vocal loudness, improved articulation and speech intelligibility, and improvements in facial expression. These therapies provided in the home setting are convenient and highly effective.

 Care Resource’s PD Therapy Treatment involves:

  • 16 rehab sessions in one month over 4 consecutive days per week
  • One-hour sessions direct with the therapist
  • Daily homework exercise in addition to the session
  • A “tune up” every 3-6 months

The beneļ¬ts of homecare compared to outpatient rehab include greater compliance with the treatment schedule; treatment in the home environment is more personalized; patients do not expend energy preparing and traveling to clinics; copays and deductibles may be less costly.
