Parkinson’s Disease Treatment

Care Resource’s Parkinson’s Disease (PD) in-home therapy program helps patients with PD reduce the incidents of falls in the home and, as a result, prevents Emergency Room visits and unnecessary hospital admissions.

Our intPutting on Socksensive therapy focuses on major motor skills training to help PD patients improve their walking, movement of their arms and legs, and balance. We use a proven therapy protocol* for in-home Physical and Occupational Therapy developed in the late 1980s that involves the patient using “big” movements with repetition and varying complexity to slow motor deterioration and improve neural functioning. This exercise in the home setting is convenient and highly effective. Buttoning Cuffs

We have seen patients recover the ability to walk one block with 50% reduced shuffling or become able to complete an upper body dressing task independently after this therapy. Patients achieve marked improvements in:

  • Gait
  • Range of Motion
  • Strength
  • Fall Reduction
  • And More

Care Resource’s PD Therapy Treatment involves:

  • 16 rehab sessions in one month over 4 consecutive days per week
  • All one-hour sessions are direct with the therapist
  • Daily homework exercise is required to be completed by the patient in addition to the session
  • A “tune up” is planned ever 3-6 months to ensure continuity

This intensive treatment can only be administered by Care Resource’s certified therapists:
